Affordable Off-Site Lodging for BLISS Sacred Sound Fest in Longmont, CO

A real bed and a hot shower, about fifteen minutes from the festival.

For one weekend in August, Wild Cider Garden fills with music. BLISS Sacred Sound Fest is three days of chant, kirtan, and sound healing under the open Colorado sky: voices rising together, sound journeys and workshops, teachers of old traditions and new ones, gardens to wander between sessions, and dancing under the apple trees when the sun goes down. It is part festival, part retreat, part homecoming, the kind of weekend that stays in your body long after. If you have not claimed your place yet, you can register for BLISS here.

And once your festival ticket is set, there is the sweet question of where you will lay your head at night. If you are anything like me, you may have decided somewhere along the way that you are done roughing it. You may be over negotiating a cold or hot tent, a port-a-potty, and a night with no shower. This is the nearby answer: a real bed, a hot shower, and a warm kitchen about fifteen minutes from the grounds, here at Soul Medicine Sanctuary.

And this is not only for travelers from far away. If you live a little too far to easily run home, or you simply want somewhere to slip back to in the heat of the day, to cool down, rest your ears, and take a nap before the evening chants begin, the door is open to you too.

More than a place to sleep

I’m Sabrina, and this is my home and the space where I hold retreats, ceremonies, and gatherings. I work as a spiritual doula, which means I hold space for people moving through thresholds, grief, opening, and transformation. A weekend of sacred sound can crack you wide open in the most beautiful way, and it is a gift to come home to a house that is tended in that same spirit of rest.

A special welcome for kirtan artists

If you are a traveling kirtan artist bringing your voice and your instruments to BLISS, please know there is a bed waiting for you here at no charge, only the cleaning fee to reset the home after your stay. It is a joy to house the people who carry the sound. Reach out and let me know you are coming, and we will find you a soft place to rest between sets.

A place to land

The downstairs is yours to share with the others staying here for the weekend. You will find:

  • A spacious kitchen, for slow mornings and packing a lunch to carry to the grounds
  • A great room to gather in, or to be quiet in
  • A full bathroom with a walk-in shower and a double vanity, plus a powder room
  • Warm water, real towels, and a bed that is actually a bed

A space for gathering and creating

The downstairs is a mixed space, made for ceremony, yoga, movement, and art as much as for rest. Many of the things here are available for you to use while you stay, and if there is something particular you are hoping for, ask and we will see what we can offer.

You can find more of what lives here on the Space and Equipment page.

Choose your bed

Rooms are booked bed by bed, so you can come solo or bring your circle:

  • A bunk: $50 a night
  • A private queen room: $125 a night, or $175 for two of you sharing the queen
  • The memory foam sofa bed in the great room: $100 a night, or $150 if two people

The minimum stay is the two nights of the retreat itself, Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30. From there you are welcome to add nights as you like, arriving Wednesday to settle in before it begins, and staying through Saturday, or even Sunday, to let it all land before you travel home. Because your bed is not finalized until everyone has been matched to a supportive bed (see How We Schedule Beds below), you reserve with a deposit rather than a fixed room rate. Your deposit is $60 per night plus a $25 room and bedding cleaning fee, and it holds your place while we settle the final assignments. Deposits are nonrefundable, with one exception: if another person takes your spot, your full deposit is returned to you, less a 20 percent administration fee. A $125 cleaning fee for the shared common areas is split evenly among all guests and settled on arrival, once our final numbers are known. These fees are how we pay our cleaners a fair and sustainable wage, an ethic we are committed to. There is the possibility of having this $125 group cleaning fee waived at Sabrina’s discretion if residents throughouly clean before departure.

How We Schedule Beds

This is community housing, a shared home where we hold the needs of everyone under this roof with care and with equity. That means the beds here are not handed out simply first come, first served. They are matched, thoughtfully, so that each person is rested and safe and can give herself fully to the work of the retreat. When we lead with equity, the whole house is more at ease, and the closeness we are weaving in the circle carries into the evenings we share here. So here is how it works. Needs come before preferences. When you make an inquiry to stay, you are always welcome to tell me the bed you would love, and I will honor that wherever I can. But some bodies genuinely need a particular bed, and those needs come first.

A few of the things that shape where you land:

  • Height: the twin XL beds in the NW room are longer, so taller folks, roughly 5’9″ (175 cm) and up, are placed there first.
  • Getting in and out: if climbing to a top bunk is hard on your body, or a physical issue makes a lower bed challening, that is considered in who is assigned to what bed.
  • Weight: our twin bunks hold up to 175 pounds (79 kg) , and the twin XL bunks hold up to 250 (113 kg) pounds on top and 300 pounds (136 kg) on the bottom. Anyone above a bunk’s limit is placed in a bed built to hold them.
  • Rest: because sleep matters for all of us, heavy snorers may need to be on one of the queen beds, either the private your or the great room, away from the shared bunk rooms, so the whole house sleeps well.

Once needs are met, your preferences and the order of reservation guide the rest. Everything you share with me, the bed you hope for and the order in which you reserved, is written down and kept. So if five of you long for the queen and none has a medical, weight, or sleep need that calls for it, the first two to reserve are the ones who receive it. The kindest thing you can do is tell me honestly what your body needs. Nothing you share is a burden. It is exactly what lets me place each of you where you will rest best, so that all of us are held.

Little comforts for the weekend

Because I hold retreats here, the house is already set up for a body that has spent all day chanting, dancing, and sitting on the ground. A few things you will find waiting:

  • Yoga mats, if you want to move or stretch the day out before bed
  • Small things for the road, like sunscreen and electrolytes
  • Slow coffee or tea in the morning before you head back to the grounds

Getting around

There are lots of easy ways to get around Longmont during your stay, whether you’re heading to the festival grounds, grabbing a bite, or exploring town between sets. The grounds themselves are only about a fifteen-minute drive away.

Carpool — during festival weekends, many guests share rides to and from the grounds. You may find people here at the Sanctuary to carpool with or at the festival, which is an easy way to save a little and meet fellow festival-goers, so ask around or watch the event chat for someone heading your way.
RIDE Longmont — the city’s on-demand shared ride service, carrying you corner to corner across town. Rides are $2 ($1 for students, seniors, and riders with disabilities), paid by card in the app. Service runs Monday–Saturday, 6am–8pm, and Sunday, 9am–5pm. Book in the RIDE Longmont app or call 970-538-9097.
Lyft — available throughout Longmont and a good bet for airport runs or trips out to Boulder. Download the Lyft app to book; rides are arranged in the app.
Uber — also covers Longmont and the wider Front Range, handy for early flights or later nights. Download the Uber app to book.

Sharing the home, gently

This is a living, shared home, and we care for it together with love. A few tender things to know:

  • I live upstairs with a housemate, and often a guest. You will come in through the main door with your own keypad code, into a shared entry, and the whole downstairs is yours to settle into. Upstairs is my private home. If our paths cross, I will gladly offer you a warm moment, and perhaps more if my schedule allows.
  • Shoes come off at the racks by the door, so bring soft socks or slippers if you like something on your feet downstairs.
  • We keep soft hours between 10pm and 6am, simply out of tenderness for the sleeping ones above. Not silence, just gentle voices and gentle sound.
  • This is a calm, quiet, grown-up home. It is not set up for babies or little ones, so I keep this stay to adults, with love.

Parking & Caring for Our Neighbors

We’re in a quiet residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking — but how we park matters more than anything else. Being a considerate, low-impact presence on our street is what allows us to keep opening this space for gatherings like BLISS, so we ask every guest to help us honor it. So the parking set up allows up to 8 cars to fit right around the house — 3 in the driveway, 2 along the front lawn, 1 by the mailbox, and 2 across the driveway (blocking driveway cars). Once those are full, please park along the school fence about five houses down and walk over. Keeping our footprint tidy and respectful is what lets us keep hosting here — thank you!

Caring for the space

I open my home to you with a lot of trust, and I ask for the same care in return. Treat this place as you would a home you love, clean up after yourself, and leave it as you found it. The cleaning fee lets me reset the space between guests so it is fresh for the next weary traveler. It is not a license to leave a mess, so please be gentle with what is here.

BLISS fills the weekend of August 14 to 16, and the beds here fill up alongside it. If a real bed and a hot shower sound like the right way to end each day, reach out to reserve your spot.

What happens next

Once you have sent your request and I have confirmed a bed is available for you, I will email you to confirm your reservation, your deposit amount and the link to pay your deposit, though the link is also noted below. All guests must sign the Understandings and Agreements upon arrival – a link to that is included below so you know what you’re consenting to. And as always, if you have any more questions, just email me.
