Soul Medicine Sanctuary is available as a whole-space homestay: the entire lower level of my home in Longmont, Colorado, offered as a private place to land. Bring your family, your friends, or your people, and settle in. It is a calm, cared-for home just minutes from Boulder, Loveland and Lafayette and made for resting, gathering, and being together.
A home that welcomes you
Our doors open to all: all gender expressions, all sexual orientations, and all faiths and paths that leave room for others. This is a home of many altars and many ways, held in mutual respect. Come to share the space, not to convert anyone in it, and you will feel at home.
The space
The whole downstairs is yours for your stay. At its heart is the Great Room, warm and open, with a pull-out memory-foam bed. From there, a private room holds a queen bed, and two more rooms hold bunks: one with two twin bunks, one with two twin-extra-long bunks, each sleeping four. Altogether the space sleeps up to twelve, in a mix of conventional beds and cozier, more unconventional spots.
Two bathrooms are yours: a powder room off the Great Room, and a full bath with a shower, a double-sink vanity, and laundry. Both toilets are automatic flushing bidets with heated seats, a small everyday comfort. Use the laundry as needed, and the full kitchen is yours to cook and gather in.
A quiet, grown-up home
This is a calm living home, with people resting in the rooms above and many tender, meaningful objects throughout. It is a place for restful, easeful gathering, not for loud or rambunctious living. For the peace of the home and the care of what it holds, it is best suited to adults, and it is not set up for babies or young children.
Who it’s for
The homestay suits many kinds of gatherings:
- Family visiting, or a reunion under one roof.
- Friends traveling together.
- Journey friends and community.
- Bridal blessings and mindful celebrations.
- Writers’ groups and creative or wellness retreats.
- Small workshop or circle groups who need a place to stay.
- A friends’ self-care weekend.
- Guests in town for a local event.
Good to know
- A shared home: the Sanctuary is the lower level of my home. I live upstairs, along with a housemate and often a guest or two. You will come and go through the main door with your own entry code, and pass through a shared foyer. Shoes come off here, where you will find racks; indoor-only shoes are welcome downstairs. From there you head straight down to your space below. Upstairs is my private home and is not part of your stay unless we arrange it together.
- Quiet hours: from 10 at night until 6 in the morning, we ask for a gentle awareness of the sleeping beings in the home above. This does not mean silence, only conscientiousness: softened voices and sound, and a mindfulness that others are resting close by.
- The bunks: for everyone’s safety, the twin bunks are rated to 175 pounds each and the twin-extra-long bunks to 300 pounds each. If that shapes who sleeps where, we can talk it through.
- Technology: wifi throughout, a large television for films and cozy nights, and the everyday things you would want, from phone chargers to a printer.
- Caring for the home: the cleaning fee covers sanitizing the space between guests, readying it fresh for whoever comes next. We ask that you leave the home as you found it. When a stay is left needing more than an ordinary reset, an additional cleaning charge of $50 an hour applies.
Rates
The whole downstairs, by the size of your group:
- Two guests, in the Great Room: $250 a night, plus a $100 cleaning fee.
- Three to six guests: $450 a night, plus a $125 cleaning fee.
- Seven to twelve guests: $650 a night, plus a $175-200 cleaning fee.

Looking for just a room?
If the whole downstairs is more than you need, I sometimes rent out by the room, usually when there is a festival occurring close by. I also host a single private room upstairs. It has a full bed, a desk and chair, a television, and a mini-fridge, with access to the upstairs bathroom, kitchen, and living room. It is bookable through Airbnb.
