A gathering space for ceremony, workshops, and circles
Tucked into the lower level of a home in Longmont, Colorado, the Sanctuary is a space cradled by the earth, quiet and set a little apart from the noise of the world above. Every part of it has been cultivated with care and intention, so the room itself holds and supports the work you bring to it.
The kinds of gatherings the space holds
The Sanctuary is intentionally flexible. A few of the ways facilitators use it:
- Ceremony and ritual: cacao and other medicine ceremonies, rites of passage, and seasonal or full moon gatherings.
- Sound and music: sound baths and sound healing, song circles, devotional chanting, and intimate concerts.
- Movement and practice: yoga, breathwork, meditation, and dance.
- Learning and workshops: classes, trainings, and skill shares.
- Circles and community: women’s and men’s circles, authentic relating, and shared meals.
- Small retreats: day-long or multi-day gatherings, with overnight stays available.

What the space includes
This whole place came out of my own years of renting rooms to hold my work. I got tired of hauling carloads of supplies from one space to the next, and tired of arriving somewhere new only to find it was not set up for what I had come to do. So I made the space I always wished I could walk into. That is what makes the Sanctuary different: it is already furnished for the work, so you can walk in and begin.
Here is what that means for you: almost everything you see here comes with the space, included in your rental at no extra charge. You are not asked to bring your own gear, rent equipment, or pay add-on supply fees. The Sanctuary comes fully stocked and ready to hold your gathering. A few of the highlights:
- Sound: a built-in Sonos system, two Era 100 speakers for wireless surround sound, plus a portable, rechargeable Sonos Move for outdoor gatherings, alongside a deep collection of instruments: harmoniums, guitar, cajons, frame drums, singing bowls, and many handheld instruments.
- Comfort: stacking chairs, floor and meditation cushions, mats, bolsters, blankets, and pillows.
- Ceremony and altar: altar bases and adornments, scarves, and circle fabrics for shaping the space.
- Kitchen: a full kitchen for preparing and sharing food.
- Sleeping for overnight retreats: twelve conventional sleeping spaces, plus several more unconventional ones. Depending on your group, additional sleeping room may be available upstairs. Tell me your numbers and we will find the fit.

The only things offered separately are consumable products we keep on hand and replenish, such as coffee and tea, sacred scents, and art supplies, which are available by contribution or for purchase. And a few things, like the wood-burning fireplace, come with their own simple guidelines for safety.
The space at a glance
- Seated in chairs: comfortably around 30 to 40 people.
- In a circle on cushions: a smaller, more intimate gathering.
- Lying down for inner-work journeys: roughly 8 to 12, depending on the work.
- Also here: a full kitchen, bathrooms, parking, and the option to rent the whole downstairs for a stay or retreat.
A home for facilitators
This space is offered in the same spirit it was made: with care, in service of people coming home to themselves. When you rent the Sanctuary, you step into that intention. Aligned practitioners are welcome to make the space their own for the time they hold it, and recurring facilitators can arrange to leave their supplies on-site. This is a shared space, though, so while your things are welcome to stay, we cannot take responsibility for belongings left here.
Good to know
- A shared home: The Sanctuary is the lower level of my home. I live upstairs, along with a housemate and often a guest or two. You will come and go through the main door with your own entry code, and pass through a shared foyer. Shoes come off here, where you will find racks; indoor-only shoes are welcome downstairs. From there you head straight down to your space below. Upstairs is my private home and is not part of your stay unless we arrange it together.
- Quiet hours: From 10 at night until 6 in the morning, we ask for a gentle awareness of the sleeping beings in the home above. This does not mean silence, only conscientiousness: softened voices and sound, and a mindfulness that others are resting close by.
- Evening and overnight work: An evening gathering may run past 10 at night, but from 10 on, the facilitator is responsible for holding participants to soft voices and soft feet, in care for the sleeping beings above. An overnight journey is different: because of those same sleeping beings, this is not the space for work that carries through the night with live drumming, loud sound, or sustained emotional release. If you are unsure whether your gathering fits, reach out and we will talk it through.
- Technology, your way: Wifi is available throughout, and a large screen is here for slideshows, films, or presentations when your gathering wants them. When you would rather hold a low-technology container, the screen tucks away into its cabinet, and a slim cabinet by the front door holds charging cords where participants can rest their phones for the day. The space meets you either way.
- Fire and open flame: Candles, the fireplace, and sacred smoke are welcome under a simple fire-use agreement, for everyone’s safety.
- Agreements: A rental agreement, and any waivers your gathering calls for, are part of booking.
- You bring the rest: Your participants and your work. The space holds the container.
Rates and availability
The main space can be rented by the hour, by the day, for several days at a time, or retreat style overnight stays, whatever your gathering calls for.
