Everything you might be wondering before you gather or stay at the Sanctuary. If your question isn’t here, just reach out — I’m happy to help.
What is Soul Medicine Sanctuary?
Soul Medicine Sanctuary is a welcoming community gathering and rental space in Longmont, Colorado — an adaptable place to come together, create, rest, and reconnect. It shapes itself to whatever you need, whether that’s a circle, a workshop, a celebration, or a quiet retreat.
Where is it located?
The Sanctuary is in Longmont, Colorado. To protect the privacy of the space and the people using it, I share the exact address once your booking or event registration is confirmed.
Will I have privacy?
Yes. The Sanctuary is the lower level of my home, so you’ll enter through the shared front foyer and then the entire downstairs is yours. It’s private, quiet, and separate — with me nearby if you need anything.
How do I book or inquire?
Reach out through my contact page with a little about what you’re hoping to do — a gathering, an overnight stay, an event — and I’ll get back to you to talk through details and check availability.
What can I use the space for?
The Sanctuary is flexible. You can gather here — circles, workshops, ceremonies, classes, celebrations — or stay here overnight, retreat-style. Many people do both. A backyard space with green grass and a large seating area may also be available for gatherings — please inquire. Learn more on Rent the Space.
How many people does it hold?
It depends on what you’re doing. For seated gatherings like trainings, the space holds around 25–30. For floor-based work — yoga and lying-down practices like shamanic journeying, breathwork, and inner-work ceremonies — it’s more like 6–12, depending upon how cozy you want to be.
Can I stay overnight?
Yes — the Sanctuary sleeps up to 12 in beds, plus about 7 more on our trifold mats if you want to be tighter in. Sleeping is spread across three bedrooms plus the main room:
- A bunk room — two twin bunk beds (sleeps 4), best for lighter folks (under 200 lbs)
- A second bunk room — two twin XL bunk beds (sleeps 4), for taller or sturdier folks (weight limit 350 lbs)
- A bedroom — with a queen bed
- The main room — a pull-out memory-foam queen couch
- Trifold mats for up to 7 more
For larger overnight groups, keep in mind there are two bathrooms — one powder room and one full bath — so those are shared. Overnight stays are lovely for retreats, out-of-town groups, or friends traveling together.
For a little more room, there’s also a guest room upstairs (booked separately through Airbnb) and a tiny house in the back that can sometimes be arranged separately — just ask. You’ll find nightly details on Rent the Space, and if your group is bigger than the space can sleep, see Nearby Stays.
What’s included?
The Sanctuary comes stocked with supplies for many kinds of gatherings — yoga mats, art supplies, and much more. For the full picture of what the space offers and how it can be used, see Rent the Space.
Is the space accessible?
The Sanctuary is on the lower level and is reached by stairs. There isn’t a step-free or wheelchair-accessible entrance, so please keep that in mind when planning — and feel free to reach out if you’d like to talk through any specific needs.
Is there a kitchen?
There’s a kitchenette which has everything you might need. While there is no oven, there are two countertop burners (hot plates), an electric skillet, a microwave, and an air fryer.
What about wifi and technology?
The Sanctuary is an intentionally low-tech, be-here-now kind of space — though we’re not here to dictate your experience. Wifi is available and you’re welcome to use technology if you need to; we simply invite you to consider unplugging while you’re here and letting yourself be fully present. There’s a house phone downstairs with Spotify for music, and near the front entrance you’ll find a charging cabinet — a place to park and charge your phone. And for guests staying in the bunk rooms, lockers are available if you’d rather not leave valuables in the shared space.
Where do we park?
The Sanctuary is in a residential neighborhood, so parking is a mix of the driveway and the street out front, with easy overflow parking a short walk away. Because we share this street with neighbors we care about, I ask everyone to park considerately, keep arrivals and departures quiet, and help us stay good neighbors. You’ll receive specific parking directions with your booking confirmation.
Are there quiet hours?
Yes — because there are permananet residents and likely other guest upstairs, quiet hours are roughly 10 pm to 6 am. Overnight ceremonies with loud live music aren’t the norm here, but I’m open to considering them — just talk with me ahead of time.
Can I bring in my own food or practitioners?
Yes to both — you’re welcome to bring your own food and your own practitioners or facilitators. The space is yours to fill as you wish. You’ll also find some basic supplies here — snacks, oatmeal, and the like; if you use them, I simply ask for a donation to cover what you use.
And if you’d like to add something to your gathering — breathwork, cacao ceremony, sound healing, catering, and more — see my Trusted Collaborators. If you’re looking for something you don’t see there, just reach out: I have a large network of healers and helpers I can draw from. You arrange and pay any provider directly.
What does it cost?
Rates depend on how you’re using the space and for how long. You’ll find current rates on Rent the Space.
How do I pay?
I accept a variety of payment methods — Zelle, credit card, PayPal, check, and international wire transfer among them.
Once we’ve agreed on a rate for your event, I’ll ask for a 50% deposit to hold your date, with the balance due 30 days before the event. For arrangements where we’re splitting proceeds, we’ll figure out a reasonable deposit together.
How do I hear about events?
Events I host — and other happenings in the conscious Longmont community — are posted to the Longmont Conscious Kinship Collective Facebook group, my personal Facebook page, and my Signal group. My email list is less frequent, but larger retreats I personally host are shared there too. Come join us.
